Bus Trip to the Chinese Garden of Friendship. Get out of the Village for the day and enjoy a trip to the enchanting Chinese Gardens in the heart of Chinatown. Explore the gardens followed by a bite to eat in Chinatown.

We will be traveling for a day trip to see spring in the Southern Highlands, which boasts a spectacular display of tulips at the annual Tulip Time Festival at Corbett Gardens, Bowral.
As avid animal lovers, we will be holding a Cupcake Day event to raise awareness and fundraise for the RSPCA! It is not limited to just cupcakes you can bake or bring whatever you like!

Back by popular demand, the Men’s Shed Chorale will visit the Astra and serenade the residents and their guests on the last Friday of winter.
A group of us will travel to the Auburn Botanical Gardens to enjoy the picturesque cherry blossom festival and indulge in Japanese food, drinks and entertainment! There will even be a special guest appearance from Hello Kitty who is celebrating her 50th birthday!
After a successful two weeks of fun and games, it’s time for the official medal ceremony. The residents committee will present the gold, silver and bronze medals to the winning team and individuals. Residents are encouraged to come along, grab a glass of champs and join in the fun!

The Astralympics will be held 26 July - 11 August, which just happens to coincide with that other minor event, the Paris Olympics. The Astralympics will feature events every day from Carpet Bowls to Rummy Tiles, from Draughts to and Table Tennis, even an Olympics Quiz and many others that we'll think of between now and then. You can enter as many or as few events as you wish but remember that all the points you score as an individual will contribute to the ultimate team trophy – Australia v The World.
Christmas has come knocking in July for the merry crew at Astra! First up, a jolly round of drinks in the lounge, followed by a festive spread at the Bondi Tratt with all the holiday fixings - ham, turkey, and the works! Then it’s back to the Astra for dessert and the infamous dancefloor! Ho Ho Ho!
Residents are encouraged to join us in the lounge at 2:00 PM to taste a variety of wines from Affinity Wines. The sampling will feature wines from France, New Zealand, and Australia. Complimentary cheese and crackers will be available.

The residents committee has registered the Astra for the Cancer Council’s annual event to raise funds for those affected by cancer. We will be holding Astra’s Biggest Afternoon Tea on May 27th to raise funds and contribute to this fantastic cause. There is a link on our Facebook page to donate or share with your friends.
