Australia Day Dinner

About twenty of us gathered under the courtyard greenery, dispelling the Covid gloom with smiles and cheerful camaraderie. Anna had draped the lounge with Australiana for the occasion. Presiding over the barbeque, Kirsty breached the boundaries of the division of labour, confirming yet again women’s prowess at multi-skilling. Alison, sommelier extraordinaire, kept the spirits bubbling. And with Ron joining in the celebrations we even boasted gender diversity! Ron’s sisters, who had been staying with him, were impressed with the convivial, communal environment and have vowed to visit him frequently. Our thanks to Anna and the Residents Committee who organised the shopping and catering, and to BBARV for their generous contribution of the food. Our thanks also to residents who added their own contributions to the smorgasbord. All in all, a great night!
