Falls Prevention Talk

Falls in the community are common, complex in origin and challenging to prevent. However, one of the best ways to prevent them is to incorporate balance and strength based exercises into your weekly exercise regime. Emily, an exercise physiologist from Seniors Fitness, is coming to talk to us today about the importance of balance and strength based exercises, how often a week and for how long we should be doing them. She cannot reiterate how important it is to stay upright!

Emily will discuss how we can assess our risk to falls to then allow us to provide a sound basis for decision making regarding interventions including exercise, that can be effective in reducing the likelihood of falls. Please come along and take part in a conversation about preventing falls and what steps we can take to reduce our risk. Emily will take us through a quick exercise session to get us started. 

Amanda from Prestige Inhome Care will be co-hosting the event, and will provide an afternoon tea for us. Anyone is welcome to attend.
