Outside, Bondi Beach buzzed and bustled on this hot Australia Day. But inside, refreshed from a dip in the surf, Bondi Beach Astra residents gathered together in the community lounge for a pleasant, COVID-safe social gathering. Anna had decked the lounge with flags and Australian memorabilia, while Jim, barbeque chef supremo, sizzled the sausages out in the courtyard. Over sausages, salads, ice cream, fruit and cheese, we chatted amiably in groups, while imbibing Barbara’s French champagne and other generous BYO donations.
