It was fabulous to be able to welcome Goran from Regional Wines of the World to Bondi Beach Astra for a wine and cheese tasting afternoon last week. As with many other things this year, we had planned to hold this event a few months ago and had to postpone because of the lockdown. But it was worth waiting for! A select and cheerful group of us gathered in the lounge to enjoy Goran’s whites, reds, rosés and liqueurs, and our cheese and biscuits to compliment. We were taken on a journey from Germany and Italy to Argentina and South Africa, discovering new grape varieties and old favourites on the way. It was a lovely selection, and big thanks go to Goran for his time, knowledge, and friendly and engaging delivery. We all enjoyed ourselves very much and relished the opportunity to have a natter and a laugh along with the excellent wine and cheese. More of this to come in the new year; next up…Christmas!
