A bunch of budding Astra bakers celebrated ‘Bake a Cake Day’ by, you guessed it, baking a cake! It was a group effort with input and ideas from those residents that came. Fun was had by all, and the end result was a vanilla and chocolate layered sponge with fresh cream and strawberries topped with a dusting of icing sugar. Yum! The cake was served at afternoon tea and was so enjoyed that there was none left by the end of the day.
